Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About Our Waste Management Services

Q: What Bin Size Do I Need?

Every business generates a unique amount of waste, so the best wheelie bin depends on the size of your organisation and how much waste it produces. It’s also important to consider the type of waste you produce, such as general waste, food waste, glass, cardboard etc.

We supply a range of wheelie bin sizes to accommodate businesses of all scopes and sizes, from independent companies to larger organisations. There’s no limit on the number of bins you can hire, whether it’s a single 240L wheelie bin or several four-wheel 1100L bins.

Check out our wheelie bin size guide for more information on how much waste each bin holds.

You can also contact us at 01424 732643 or bins@jmwastemanagement.co.uk for more information or a free quote.

  • General Waste
  • Glass
  • Mixed Dry Recycling
  • Food Waste
  • Non-Infectious Clinical Waste
  • Confidential Waste
  • Asbestos

Q: What is the Maximum Weight Limit for Wheelie Bin Collection?

It depends on the wheelie bin you hire!

Here’s an overview of the maximum weight limit of each of our wheelie bins:

  • 240L Wheelie Bin (Glass, Card, and General Waste) 20kg
  • 350L Wheelie Bin (Glass, Card, and General Waste) 30kg
  • 660L Wheelie Bin (Card and General Waste Only) 50kg
  • 1100L Wheelie Bin (Card and General Waste Only) 80kg

What if My Bin Exceeds the Maximum Weight Limit?

We charge an additional £0.20 per kilo of extra weight.

Do I Need to Separate Waste?

Yes, you need to separate general waste from recycling waste like glass, dry mixed recycling (DRM), and food waste.

Failure to separate recycling from general waste will result in additional disposal fees.

To make the process easier, we offer a range of waste bags and bins to separate the different types of rubbish you generate. Check out our wheelie bin guide for more information!

How Long Does It Take to Set Up Wheelie Collection?

Once you have chosen your wheelie bins and accepted our quote, we provide a contract and payment terms.

We strongly recommend setting up a direct debit payment method, as this allows keep administration costs down, with savings passed directly to you.

When you’re happy with the contract terms and provide a payment method, we supply you with the wheelie bins. Wheel bin collection typically begins after seven days of receiving the bins, giving you enough time to fill them up!

We’re always available on flexible schedules though, so let us know if you need your first wheelie bin collection sooner.
