How Does it Work?

JM Waste Management offers quick and convenient food waste disposal services for businesses across Eastbourne, Hastings, and wider East Sussex. Here’s how the service works:

You receive a 240-litre food waste wheelie bin, a free 23L food caddy, and food waste bags to get started. Simply use the waste bags and food caddy to transfer your food waste to the wheelie bin.

Our licenced waste carriers collect the food bins using specialist vehicles, inserting a fresh bin liner into the wheelie bin after each collection.

Food waste is transported to an anaerobic digestion plant where microorganisms break down the materials.

The waste creates methane that is converted into biogas to generate renewable electricity. The remaining byproduct of the waste is nutrient-packed digestate that is used in agricultural fertiliser.

What Food Can I Recycle?

Our food waste disposable service accommodates a wide range of products, including:

  • Fruits & Vegetables
  • Meat
  • Fish
  • Dairy Products
  • Tea & Coffee
  • Bread & Pastries
  • Plate Scrapings & Leftovers

Please ensure that you only use the accepted food products in your food waste bin, otherwise you may face additional fees.
